We have our Art in the right place! Minimize

www.artuscany.eu

ARTuscany offers educational holidays in Italy, including short breaks, tailor made to suit your interests, including  a wide range of en plein air and hands-on art workshops in painting, drawing, sculpture, mosaics and glass work, ceramics and pottery as well as the reproduction of Etruscan jewellery.

Learn from scratch or improve upon your existing ability and experience.

Enjoy the experience of learning encouraged by warm hospitality, authentic Tuscan cuisine and guided tours to some of Tuscany's most prestigious medieval towns. (Not to mention glorious weather!)

We are located on the borders between southern Tuscany and Umbria within close proximity to Lake Trasimeno.

The areas of Cortona – Castiglion Fiorentino, form a typical Tuscan and Vasarian landscape with villages built around a castle not far from a Romanesque Church and surrounded by cypress trees. Blessed with countless art and historical treasures by famous artists such as Vasari, Luca Signorelli and Piero della Francesca, it is an inspirational location with stunning views and Mediterranean light to capture the imagination and enrich the spirit.

Our programme is designed with non Italians in mind to encourage an understanding of the full spectrum of Italian artistry with its unique historical significance.

We will arrange all the details for you to help ensure a vacation that you will remember forever. We offer a different way to travel.

Our courses are fully guided and well organized tours, which combine cultural elements with recreational activities. Join us and be our guest as we introduce you to a whole new world!

The workshops have a practical and professional focus but cater for all levels of ability from absolute beginners to competent artists. Wherever  possible we can structure a course based on individual or specific group's interests.

Our policy is to maintain small classes so that teachers can identify the requirements of each individual while still working as a group.

If you are an art professional you may choose our Continuing Education & Masters Programme, offering the opportunity to be creative while applying traditional techniques.

We run art courses all year and liase with Art Schools, Universities, Art Academies and The International Study Center "Baldassarre Castiglione" in the areas of Arezzo, Florence, Perugia and Rome.

Each programme includes discussions and topical lectures linked to cultural excursions for both artistic and recreational interest.

A short trip by train provides access to the beauty of Florence, Rome, Perugia and Siena, a unique experience with exposure to great works of art, particularly The Renaissance.

In order to help students participate in Art courses we also offer support services for Accommodation and Italian Language.

For non painting partners and family we are able to arrange interesting activities and entertainment to suit most interests.

X Factor – Italians Do It Better! (Check them out on i-tunes)
Modified By dianski on 4/28/2009 5:35:51 PM)
X Factor in Italy has not long finished and already I have severe withdrawal symptoms… thank goodness for Youtube! It was, without doubt the musical highlight of the week. What astounded me was the professionalism with which young Italians performed songs in English. It would be wonderful to see this home grown talent become recognised in the UK and the States, as sadly many Italians only achieve fame here once they have been declared a success abroad. I implore you to visit the myspace pages of the artists below and if you’re impressed to support them by downloading their singles from i-tunes. Allow me to introduce the Italians that do it better… Matteo Becucci’s victory at X-Factor was richly deserved. His captivatingly melodic voice is perfect for the beauty of the ballad. Stay, Stars, Arthur’s Theme, Starman, Eye In The Sky and I Should Have Known Better were immaculately performed. With his curly hair and 80’s appeal, he reminds me a little of Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall. His talent is versatile, sailing seamlessly through renditions of everything from Italian classics such as ‘Caruso’ to rock emblems such as ‘Stairway to Heaven’. He deserves global recognition and is a great example of the myth of overnight success… Matteo has been working hard to achieve his dream of stardom since he was at High School and is now 38 years old and married with two small children. He has just released his first EP here in Italy, which contains his first original single ‘Impossibile’ downloadable from i-tunes ☺ He has just signed a contract with Sony and his album is expected within the next 12 months… I just can’t wait! Anastacia, recently a guest on the show, declared her support for Daniele Magro, a 19 year old Sicilian with a powerful and soulful voice. He has displayed great versatility with renditions of Think, Black and Gold, Honesty, Calling You, and Another One Bites the Dust. He’s going to be a huge star but he may need to leave Italy to achieve full recognition… His powerful voice wouldn’t be out of place amongst the soul legends of the United States. He recently performed on the show with amazing John Legend. Italians should value what they have as there is no other singer here with a voice like Daniele’s. If you close your eyes you would never think that he was Italian but listen for yourself… Daniele’s first single simply entitled ‘No’ is available now from i tunes ☺ Noemi could well be a reincarnation of Janis Joplin and was born to sing the blues. She has an electrifying voice and heightened the musical temperature with Fever, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Upside Down and ‘Aint No Sunshine. It has already been predicted that this young lady will become hugely successful. She has just released her first single ‘Briciole’ which has been one of the most popular songs to be downloaded on i tunes. Enrico Nordio was sadly eliminated but he didn’t deserve to be. He proved to be one of the most versatile performers, having swung with a swing version of Jump, hauntingly paid homage to Paul Mc Cartney’s Once Upon A Long Ago and Duran Duran’s Ordinary World. When he performed Grace Kelly I couldn’t believe that anyone except Mika could hit those high notes! Italians are justly proud of their Italian musical heritage but there is also a great love affair here with American and British artists, many of whom find an adoring public here impossible to resist. San Remo is a hugely popular 59 year running annual music festival held in the town by the same name in the region of Liguria. International stars such as Madonna, Annie Lennox, Duran Duran, Will Smith and Take That have graced the stage of the Ariston Theatre which has provided a springboard for launching internationally successful performers Laura Pausini and Zucchero. The Italian love of music is evident by the high number of concerts that entice huge crowds all year round. Many of these concerts boast famous names from across the water. My dream is to see the reverse happen and see more Italians ‘do it better’ abroad…
