We have our Art in the right place! Minimizar

www.artuscany.eu

ARTuscany offers educational holidays in Italy, including short breaks, tailor made to suit your interests, including  a wide range of en plein air and hands-on art workshops in painting, drawing, sculpture, mosaics and glass work, ceramics and pottery as well as the reproduction of Etruscan jewellery.

Learn from scratch or improve upon your existing ability and experience.

Enjoy the experience of learning encouraged by warm hospitality, authentic Tuscan cuisine and guided tours to some of Tuscany's most prestigious medieval towns. (Not to mention glorious weather!)

We are located on the borders between southern Tuscany and Umbria within close proximity to Lake Trasimeno.

The areas of Cortona – Castiglion Fiorentino, form a typical Tuscan and Vasarian landscape with villages built around a castle not far from a Romanesque Church and surrounded by cypress trees. Blessed with countless art and historical treasures by famous artists such as Vasari, Luca Signorelli and Piero della Francesca, it is an inspirational location with stunning views and Mediterranean light to capture the imagination and enrich the spirit.

Our programme is designed with non Italians in mind to encourage an understanding of the full spectrum of Italian artistry with its unique historical significance.

We will arrange all the details for you to help ensure a vacation that you will remember forever. We offer a different way to travel.

Our courses are fully guided and well organized tours, which combine cultural elements with recreational activities. Join us and be our guest as we introduce you to a whole new world!

The workshops have a practical and professional focus but cater for all levels of ability from absolute beginners to competent artists. Wherever  possible we can structure a course based on individual or specific group's interests.

Our policy is to maintain small classes so that teachers can identify the requirements of each individual while still working as a group.

If you are an art professional you may choose our Continuing Education & Masters Programme, offering the opportunity to be creative while applying traditional techniques.

We run art courses all year and liase with Art Schools, Universities, Art Academies and The International Study Center "Baldassarre Castiglione" in the areas of Arezzo, Florence, Perugia and Rome.

Each programme includes discussions and topical lectures linked to cultural excursions for both artistic and recreational interest.

A short trip by train provides access to the beauty of Florence, Rome, Perugia and Siena, a unique experience with exposure to great works of art, particularly The Renaissance.

In order to help students participate in Art courses we also offer support services for Accommodation and Italian Language.

For non painting partners and family we are able to arrange interesting activities and entertainment to suit most interests.

Jazzing It Up On A Summer’s Evening
Modificado Por dianski en 25/03/2009 17:27:00)

Perugia is famous as Italy’s most central point, an important artistic centre and capital of Umbria. It has much to offer lovers of music and the arts. The town lent its nickname to the famous painter Pietro Vannucci, ‘Perugino’ who worked in Perugia, Rome and Florence and is thought to have been Raffaello’s teacher. The city is also home of the Euro Chocolate festival held annually in October, due to the excellent reputation of its local chocolate company Perugina, whose chocolates known as ‘Baci’ (kisses) are exported world wide.

The city has two popular main universities, the Università degli Studi and the Foreigners University (Università per Stranieri), which serves as an Italian Language and Culture school attracting students from all over the world. The city also hosts the Umbra Institute, an American school for students studying abroad and the famous Accademia delle belle arti (Art Academy).

The city also invites serious students of jazz to attend regular jazz clinics run by the University. Jazz is a passion in Perugia and now that cheap flights are in operation between Stansted (UK) and Perugia there is no better excuse to take flight to enjoy the cool sound of jazz on a hot summer evening. The annual Umbria Jazz Festival provides an oasis for lovers of jazz for 10 days every July. Increasingly the festival has showcased talent in the worlds of rock, salsa and soul. Last year the festival was initiated by African musicians with impressive performances from students attending the University for Foreigners.

There are free nightly open air concerts set against the backdrop of the historic centre and an outdoor arena which in the past has welcomed the likes of Simply Red, Sting, Elton John, Herbie Hancock and Alicia Keyes. Tickets are available from May and a complete on line program can be consulted from April  at www.umbriajazz.com.
